The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
